The sponsorship will extend through at least June 30, 2011.

In addition to providing guidance and support to EHLA, MBU plans to use the Academy's urban setting and diverse population as a sort of working laboratory for research and instructional methods. "We are proud to be associated with the Ethel Hedgeman Lyle Academy", said Dr. Alton Lacey, president of MBU. "MBU is firmly committed to helping the students of EHLA become educated, whole individuals who are able to positively impact our world".

Specifically, MBU is helping to improve EHLA's academic achievement by providing a myriad of resources to the Academy's instructors and students. Among other things, the University sponsors professional development meetings for the Academy's staff, provides technical and curricular resources and encourages MBU education students to complete their required coursework at EHLA.

Missouri Baptist University is a premier Christian university in St. Louis offering graduate and undergraduate studies in over thirty specialized fields and nine degrees. MBU's education and fine arts programs are nationally known in addition to business, religion, administration of justice, and more. MBU is currently one of the fastest growing higher education institutions in Missouri with an enrollment of over 4,200 students at four locations in the greater St. Louis area - West County, Lincoln County, Jefferson County and Franklin County.
